My journey began with a scenic four-hour drive from Nairobi in a comfortable safari van, making delightful stopovers at Emali and Mtito Andei towns. The anticipation grew with every mile, and upon arrival, I knew this trip would be unforgettable.
The Journey
Departing from the bustling city of Nairobi, we ventured south on a smooth tarmac road. The drive was pleasant, punctuated by brief but enjoyable stops in Emali and Mtito Andei. These towns provided a glimpse into the local culture and offered perfect opportunities to stretch our legs and grab refreshments. The journey, though long, was a great prelude to the adventure that awaited us.
Arrival at Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa
Located at the main entrance to the Taita Hills Sanctuary, Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa is an inviting stone building surrounded by lush gardens. The resort boasts 60 spacious rooms and two exquisite suites, each with a private viewing balcony. My accommodation for the stay was in one of the luxurious suites, and it exceeded all expectations.

Location and Accessibility
Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa is conveniently located at the main entrance to the Taita Hills Sanctuary in South Eastern Kenya, 400 km from Nairobi and 200 km from Mombasa. For those preferring to fly, the resort has its own airstrip, allowing for an hour flight from Nairobi or a 30-minute flight from Mombasa by private charter. The sanctuary is also accessible by road, being a three-hour drive from Mombasa and a six-hour drive from Nairobi.
